ROCK FIELD Origin of the Company Name “Rock Field”
The name “Rock Field” is an English translation of the two kanji characters that make up the family name of the founder, Chairman, President and CEO of the company, Kozo Iwata: Iwa and ta meaning “rock“ and “field,“ respectively. When Iwata traveled to New York in his younger days, he came up with the idea for the company name while in front of the Rockefeller Center.
